Snowflake Sticks ~ Pottery Barn Copy

Almost all of my Christmas decor is out.  Almost.  I have some rearranging to do and some vignettes to put together.  Fortunately, I remembered that the Copy Cat Challenge was the first installment of the Blogger Block party and lucky me, (I mean really lucky, because I'm not quite ready to do an entire tour) I had seen this photo awhile ago and knew I wanted to knock it off.  And, yeppers, that means another Pottery Barn copy.  Lots of you have done variations of this, but this is a first time for me.

I sent Fun-Sized Chick outside to gather some sticks for me.  (It sounds positively pioneer-like, doesn't it?)   Then all I had to do was grab my clear glass vase to put them in.

Isn't it interesting that I caught the Blue hour outside?  (You can see it through the sheers.)

The Pottery Barns sticks are adorned with their glass snowflakes.  My snowflakes are plastic that I purchased in two 4-packs for 69¢ each at Old Time Pottery.

One tip for you, my snowflakes had a string poked straight through the design on the flake, which made all of the snowflakes hang sideways.  I restrung them as shown above with one of those slip loops, which caused the snowflakes to hang facing forward.

So simple, yet so pretty!

  2. Wonderfully simple! I have the snowflakes and the vase and the whole kit and caboodle. All I need is a fun sized chick to go hunt down some branches for me.

  8. Hi Kim! How pretty! I love your version and I really do appreciate that tip on putting the knot to help the ornies hang straight. I have that problem all of the time. Now love that you captured the Blue Hour too! :)
