Awash in Unfinished Projects

Yes, I am awash in unfinished projects.   I was going to try to put together a typical blog post, but that task seems a bit daunting.   Instead, let's take a look at what's going on around the CC Homestead.  Above, appears to be a happily completed project, right?  Well, not so much, it looks like the below photo if you turn it around.

The base is a large (maybe 4" dia.) recycled styrofoam ball that I primed first, it was mod-podged in its previous life.  Then channeled my inner Morticia and cut up Dollar Store roses and hydrangeas, leaving about a 1/2" stem.

They seem to fit quite snugly with no glue, I first used an awl to poke a hole, then tucked the flower stem in.

This flower ball is done on a smaller, maybe 2", ball with larger rose flower heads.

Next comes the "pearl" ball.  Now I ask, does this look like pearls to you?  That would be a big fat "Nada!"  I used the bead necklaces that get tossed out at parades, hot glued them to another recycled ball, spray painted them first Heirloom White, then White White.  Onto plan C and/or D.

This is the "start" of what was supposed to be a really great project from the MarthaStewart.com website.  While I think the ideas--which I'll keep to myself right now--are good ones, probably not for this particular wedding.

Some small monograms--you'll never guess what they're made from.  I also got the monograms from MarthaStewart.com.

How did burlap get in with these wedding decorations???  That will be unveiled (Ha!  No pun intended) later.

  7. I just love the shade of green you are using in the wedding. It's going to be so pretty. I don't know what the monograms are but I like them!
