Thrifty Finds

Since I've got a busy week lined up, I thought I would share with you a few thrifty finds.  Above:  This is taking the layered look way over-the-top!  I promise I will get this stacked hodge-podge sorted out and arranged soon.  The mirror in front is a recent CL find for $25.  I thought it was a super bargain, until I actually saw it.  I don't think I overpaid, but it's wasn't as great of a deal as I anticipated.

I've been booing and hooing about the sorry state of goods to be had at our GW the last several times I've been there.   Last week I found many, many tempting items.  These are the few that actually came home with me.   Everything is fairly small-scale, I think I 'm going to put the plaque in the foyer on a stand, distress the faux Demijohn, and the little bird is so sweet (can you tell it's a bird?, the photo is kind of funky), I'm going to tuck it somewhere.

I was swooning over a large French-style dresser that appeared to be in great shape for $60.  I did not have the extra cash available, plus it will be wiser to wait till Healthy Chick moves and takes her extra furniture so I'll have some of my space back.

Roman shade update:  Ding, ding, ding, done!   I also want to thank you for all of the kind comments on my previous post on my daughter's prom dress.

  1. Great thrifty finds Kim. I just checked out your last post. My daughter Mallory is 15 and almost 6 foot. I'm 5'11" myself and she's still growing. She had her Freshman dance on Fri. and I couldn't believe what some of the other girls were wearing. Things have certainly changed since I was a teen that's for sure. Your daughter is beautiful, just like her Momma!

  2. Your mirror is gor-ge-ous. Even if it turned out to be plastic I think it is still a great find. We're having some work done on our home and I haven't been able to go to GW and I think I'm starting to go through withdrawals. Can't wait to see the distressed demijohn.

  3. Great finds, Kim! Here lately my thrift store trips have been for naught! I'm guess I'm just not going at the right time.
