I spent sometime today and got some things off my floor and onto the wall in the master bathroom.
This is a quick before shot. See? Ho and Hum. The picture, while lovely, is quite all by its lonesome.
Better after.
- Ceiling medallion, was a couple of dollars at a sidewalk sale last summer. I painted it gold and glazed it.
- Frenchy plate, purchased at GW which I used in a previous dining room tabletop arrangement.
- The "K," sorry, Darling Husband. I don't want to boot him out of the bath. I purchased this K eons ago from Home Goods intending to hang it with my decorating books. The office is currently stuffed to the rafters (I'm only exaggerating a little) with college kids' coming- and going-bins.
Although, this looks like a pretty simple change, it entailed getting in and out of the bathtub several times, accidentally turning the faucet on which led to wet feet, which led to fear of sliding on the tile floor when stepping out...not to mention climbing on the ledge to take photos. Home decorating can be a pretty risky business.
I figured since I had the tripod in the tub, anyway, I'd take a chandy shot. (Don't worry, I'll take it out before my next bath.)
I'm sharing here:
It looks wonderful. I love the use of the medallion. It looks fabulous. The whole wall arrangement is super and the chandy is stunning. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty

Sweet vignette, Kim. Gotta say that I'm loving the plate inside the medallion too! I picked up a few new doo-dads for my downstairs bathroom last weekend and now I'm having some new thoughts about what to do with them. I always get such great ideas here! Thanks!

What a cute blog... it's my first time stopping by. I LOVE the ceiling medallion (those are so in right now) and the big K. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a glamorous bath! Love the chandelier! Great idea about the ceiling medallion around the plate. I commiserate about the kids and their stuff leaving and coming back. Do they and their stuff every really leave? Once again I can't walk around the basement. My son moved out 4 years ago and lives over 3,000 kms away but still sends stuff home "for storage".
ReplyDeleteI love the wall display, Kim! What a great idea with the medallion. I have one packed away that I may have to get out an copy you.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
That looks beautiful Kim! I love your chandy too and hanging that plate in the middle of the medallion was genius! :-)

Love your medallion...but boy that plate dates me! Both my mother and her neighbor had that pattern in a smattering here and there (we always had mis-matched china!!). Lovely idea for your wall...and I'm firm believer that every bathroom should have a chandelier!
ReplyDeleteHI Kim! I love your medallion! And that plate - my mother had that set when she first got married! Love the chandy too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love your bathroom wall vignette! So elegant, but not fussy -- love that!

I didn't realize that was a ceiling medallion- thought it was the frame to a round mirror. It looks wonderful surrounding that plate! The chandy sure looks pretty....
