I had to think a bit about this "Mom Cave" business (although it is an adorable name, don't you think?). Ms. Centsational is having a link party sponsored by Home Goods, wherein we get to talk about, show off, dream, or ponder our mom caves.
Hands’ down it’s my dining room. It’s my project area...
I get to pretty it up with floral slipcovers,
...and thrift store finds. Experiment with decor.
It's a fun place to do some tablescaping blog posts.
You can find me working on client projects.
My number one, Mom Cave use is it's my go-to and only fabric layout spot (unless you count the floor!).
So, I get to do all of this fun stuff while being off the beaten path enough that I’m not bothered, but I can still hear everything that's going on because of it's central location -- sneaky, huh? I think that's another bonus we can add to our Mom Caves--a bit of sneakiness. Wouldn’t you agree?
I'm linking with Kate, Susan, and Jan who is starting up her Bragfest again:
Your dining room is beautiful. I love the slipcovers on your chairs! What a great space!
ReplyDeleteA STUNNING room Kim!! I love your use of color and those slip covers are wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Hi Kim! I absolutely love this space and those slipcovers on your chairs are some of the prettiest I have seen. I like how they don't cover the entire chair. Do you mind me asking whether you made them or bought them somewhere?
ReplyDeleteIt all looks like the perfect mom "cave" and yet not cave-like at all! :-)
Vanessa
Dining room/project area? Gotta love a multi-functional room. The slip covers are really eye-candies. Btw, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a funny comment :)
ReplyDeleteMy Mom Cave used to be my dining room for that very reason. It's the only place I can lay out all that fabric! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Your Mom Cave is so pretty an elegant. I really like it. Although Im my style is more on the contemporary side, im definitely diggin' your sense of design and decoration. I love how you incorporate beautiful fabric and details into this room.
ReplyDeleteKim, what a gorgeous room! I love those slipcovers!

Hi Kim, thank you for stopping by the high street cottage. And for your lovely comment. Your Mom Cave is beautiful, fit for a queen! Thanks again, tami
ReplyDeleteLove your dining room aka "Mom Cave" and isn't amazing how little we use our DR for actual eating...lol I use to use my DR table with it's glass top for all my art projects because glass is such a work horse and then cleans up beautifully. Good luck! Fondly, Roberta
ReplyDeleteVery pretty mom cave...love those chair slipcovers!!!! I use my dining room as a project room too!

I love your mom cave! It is so pretty. I have an office with built in but I consistently pile up all my supplies in the office and then work out on the dining room table. The husband has just agreed that for Xmas I can convert our formal living room to a studio area. His only thing is that he wants it to be good furniture...Can you say PB project table. Honey, you don't have to twist my arm! lol
ReplyDeleteGorgeous room, Kim! I can see why you adore it so. The slipcovers are soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteDonna
I do agree! Good luck with the contest :)
ReplyDeleteBesides all those wonderful purposes, it's where you can gather with family and friends for a meal. Beautiful dining room/ mom cave! Your slip covers are gorgeous.
