Welcome to the heart of our home. I really appreciate, Shelia from Note Songs, for hosting The Heart of the Home party. I had a lot of fun putting this post together. So, without delay, here we go: Once upon a time, there was this kitchen...
* * * * *
Usually, I'm all about trying to capture the best photo to show off all things home--sewing, crafts, tablescapes, cooking, etc. Today, you get family. This is what happens in our kitchen day to day:Switching back into blogger mold, here's a recipe for you:
Ranch Oyster Cracker Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 (1 ounce) package Ranch-style dressing mix
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 5 cups oyster crackers
Directions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine the dressing mix, dill weed, vegetable oil, lemon pepper, and garlic powder. Add oyster crackers, and toss to coat. Spread evenly on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring gently after 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and allow to cool before serving.
We hope you enjoyed the Heart of our Home!
(L-R Artsy Chick, Strapping Lad, Lad's girlfriend, Six Foot Chick, Healthy Chick's pic, Fun Sized Chick, Darling Husband) This photo is a bit dated, but I don't catch the Strapping Lad in the kitchen as much as the Chicks.
In addition to Shelia, I'm also participating with these hostesses:

What a beautiful family! Your so lucky to have children that like to cook. My boys walk in and say what have you got to eat? LOL
ReplyDeleteSherry
My daughter had no desire to cook until she moved away on her own. No matter how interesting I tried to make it back in her teen years, it was always a flat out, "No thanks".
ReplyDeleteNow I have to give my cooking lessons long distance. Even so, I'm just glad she's come to dear old mom for help. Makes me feel like she still needs me, at least a little bit...
You have a beautiful family Kim, and these pics really show how much you all cherish the time together.
Blessings and Peace,
Martha
Great post, Kim. You really do have a beautiful family. Aren't you just so proud of them? You should be. Great post -- I really enjoyed seeing everybody.
ReplyDeleteI love this Kim! If our homes are just pretty to look at but not lived in and loved in than they are not really homes at all! Thanks for sharing from your heart and I have to tell you that the oyster cracker snack is one of our all-time family favorites! :-)

Don't like broadcasting the true location all over the internet, although I probably just did. lol.) I also know of several other bloggers in our area. Maybe some time in the future we can all get together. :)
