Fabric Fun Thursday No. 19

Hi my sewing friends and divas.  You are "divas," right?  I'm diligently working on my loft draperies.  Promise!  If you are a Facebook fan, you saw an "Aack" a day or two ago, when I was getting out my inner lining.  An inner lining is a lining that goes in between your show fabric and regular lining.  You'd use an inner lining on a thinner fabric to get a thick, voluminous drape.  Think of it as sewing a blanket in between and you'll get the proper mental picture.  I was considering skipping this step to save myself time and trouble--it's the loft, after all.  But then figured I'd get this big bolt out of my closet.  (There's so little storage space as it is.)  The below bolt of inner lining contains 10 1/2 yds.  I hope I get these panels done this week.  There's more detail work to do because I'm going to make ties to attach them to the rod.  No, I can't leave well enough alone...
Edited to add:  I was informed by a real sewing-pro follower that the lining is really called interlining (corrected).  Thanks, Joanne

Now, let's take a look at some actual completed projects that you submitted last week:

I'm so excited about this idea Carol from The Polka Dot Closet linked up.  She covered this wooden box with fabric using fabric starch as a reusable adhesive.  I've seen it done on walls before, but not other objects.  Is Carol a smart cookie, or what?

The clever Amy from Design-Aholic made a coordinating pillow for her rocking chair in the nursery.  I just love the bright red polka dot fabric.  You will get some smart tips in how she put it together.  Take a peek.

Miki, a new blogger, from The House of Beauty and Culture linked up a post that included home decor including these burlap flowers.  I guess I'm just like a lot of other bloggers and have a thing for burlap.  I like how Miki used it to add rustic softness to her metal cloche.

Tag.  Now you're IT!

Remember, these don't have to be items you've made yourself.  Pretty rooms, great deals, vintage finds that contain fabric all count!

The fine print:

Link up rules. Please be a sweetheart and...

1. Link your post, not your general URL. (Click on the title of your post. Copy and paste from your address bar.)

2. Link to this blog with my FFT button or refer to this event in your post so others can join in the fun or I'll have to send blogging gremlins over to come and haunt your blog.  If I can't find a reference to FFT I'll have to delete your entry--please don't make me hunt all over for it, if I can't find it, others will not be able to either.  I really hate to do this!

3.  Please no direct Etsy or store links.  If you are showing us how to do something, then putting it in your store, that's fine.

4. DO YOU LOVE COMMENTS?  Please try to visit 3 other links and leave a comment.  You'll be glad you did--there is so much talent out there.

  4. I have been subscribed to your blog for a while now and love your posts! I just had to comment (wearing my "custom window treatment professional" hat) and mention that what you call "inner lining" is actually called "interlining". I don't mean to sound "snooty", but just FYI! Can't wait to see what you make!
    Warmly,
