Bundle Bouquet Vase

I {heart} stem bundle bouquets!   Every time I see one of these pre-made in the store, I want to bring it home--no matter what the flower, dried wheat, or whatever.  I decided to take matters into my own hands and make one for myself.

I started with clear glass vase, approx. 3" dia., that had straight sides and a silk grass stem.  I debated quite a bit between the green silk leaf stem ($3) and dried grasses.  The vase I used was $3 from Target.  (Walmart  also had one.)  I'm sure you could find one at the thrift store--when I was on a mission to make this there were only curvy ones there.

Before I started hot gluing, I used a Sharpie and made three vertical lines at varying spaces to keep my gluing straight.  While gluing, I let the pointed ends of the leaves slightly overlap the top edge of the vase anywhere from 1/4" to 1".  You should be able to see that in the photos, above.

I trimmed the leaves at the bottom of the vase with scissors.  On occasion I had leaves that were short, so I glued them end to end with a little overlap.

For the grand finale, add your flowers.  You will need to trim your flower stems so the head of the flowers are just slightly above the rim of your vase (yes, these are fresh sunflowers!) Tie a ribbon or jute around the middle and see all the fun spots you can use and enjoy it in!

Assembly note, if you want a full-flower look, for this size vase you'll need a pretty good sized bunch.  If you like to use small bunches of flowers, choose a vase with a smaller diameter.
