Here's a sample of the fabric I was having fun with this week. To see what I did with it, come back Friday. I'll have a little announcement to make then, too.
Some super-talented fabric-related features from last week:
My friend, Jan, from Bobbypins Boardwalk used bird graphics to make this pillow.
If this girl can dream it, she can do it. Pretty Handy Girl used fabric as one of the elements in her window frame message center. If you'd like one, she includes a "how to."
This chair was rescued from the curb by Sandy at The Wonders of Doing. She used a beautiful dish-towel-turned-chair-pad-cover to give it a finishing touch.
Lastly, Tere at PonyTails and FishScales made cute flower bracelets for her daughters. The thing that makes this unique is that Tere covered a pipe cleaner with fabric to wrap around the wrist. That's some dedicated sewing! (Aww, she's so cute!)
Remember, these don't have to be items you've made yourself. Pretty rooms, great deals, vintage finds all count!
Link up rules. Please be a sweetheart and...
1. Link your post, not your general URL. (Click on the title of your post. Copy and paste from your address bar.)
2. Link to this blog with my FFT button or refer to this event in your post so others can join in the fun. If I can't find a reference to FFT I'll have to delete your entry--please don't make me hunt all over for it, if I can't find it, others will not be able to either. I really hate to do this!
3. Please no direct Etsy or store links. If you are showing us how to do something, then putting it in your store, that's fine.
4. DO YOU LOVE COMMENTS? We all do, so please visit as many of the other links as you can. You'll be glad you did--there is so much talent out there.
Thanks for hosting Kim...love Jan's pillow!

Hi Kim... you put a big smile on
ReplyDeletemy face today! Featuring my 'trash chair'
was such a nice thing for you to do!!
I'm a lover of dumpster diving and it's
amazing how much is out there and if we
all can see the trash for what can be done
to it.. I love to use odd fabrics for
seats and pillows...
Love your blog
Thanks again
Sandy
Thanks for showing all the wonderful talent out here in blogland. I'm going to check out all the other posts too. I'm sure I'll get a double dose of inspiration.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with the fabric. I had that on some chairs and made a valance for my kitchen at one time. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I am just so honored to be one of your features from last week. You have inspired me to keep going with my sewing. I bought more fabric and I'm going to make even MORE pillows. I have no idea what I shall do with them, but they are tons of fun to make. So thank you so much! I'm very anxious to see what you do with that colorful fabric. I love it!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting -- I am a total fabric NUT, so this linky party is right up my alley. Beautiful blog, too.... and thank you so much for giving me the link to the post about repairing applied gesso decorations on frames. I actually have that kind of epoxy on hand, and am going to try this on my 10 dollar mirror!
I can't guarantee the results, but it will probably be better than what is there now.
Again, thanks!
Sorry for commenting so late -- just got home!

Me again! I forgot to say that I am NUTS about that rooster fabric. Is it linen? Who is the manufacturer? I'd love to make a cushion for my kitchen stool from it, and maybe some potholders, and maybe some napkins and placemats, and so on ....
ReplyDeleteCass
I LOVE the rooster fabric and I think I have that EXACT pattern (in red) in my stash!!! I have a fabric hoarding problem!!!! Such fun though :)
