Bargains and Freebies

I haven't shown you any bargains, thrift or garage sale-ing items in awhile.  So, it's about time, I'd say.  Take a look at what I've picked up in the last week or so.   
  1. Woo hoo, fancy chandy
  2. Same chandy, not so dandy (sorry, I couldn't resist that cheesy rhyme)
  3. Heavy brass touch-on lamps, I think one needs to be rewired (I left the shades behind, they were too dated)
  4. Ceramic lamp ($3), Ooo la la mirror ($12), outer piece of a ceiling medallion ($3)
The freebies (1-3) came from my mom's house--we redecorated them out of her place.  I can't wait to get going on some of these projects.  I'll bet you can tell right off what I'll be doing with a couple of things:  Hint, hint, a couple of gold things.   I would guess that many of you are envious of the chandy I snagged.  Ha, ha, I got it, you didn't. 

The items in photo 4 are taller than they appear, I would guess the mirror is about 24" high.  Healthy Chick wants the pretty mirror for her bathroom, I was hoping to fit it into a niche in the living room but it was too wide.  Boo.  Hoo.  I'm thinking of putting the chandy in Fun-Sized Chicks room--it's the only wild-card project of the bunch.

One of these items will probably end up in a "Would you pay ? for this item" challenge, so be thinking creatively--I know you always do anyway.  Yippee!  The first challenge was so fun.

    Terrific finds! Now go "redecorate" your Mom's place some more -- and convince her that all the GOOD stuff needs to go ... go right into your home. My daughter does that to me....

I have some similar and I'm thinking of painting them white...how about you? Also, pretty mirror. Thanks for your comment on my story.     It's too bad the mirror didn't fit in your niche. I am sure it will look great in Healthy Chicks bathroom.

    The chandelier makeover will be a bit of a challenge but if anyone can make it wonderful...it's you!!!
