Patriotic Eggs

You didn't think you were going to wait all the way until next spring to see some more decorated eggs, did ya?  While I was going through my old Mary Engelbreit (didn't I mention her/these in a prior post?) magazines, I saw a football already made in the above design.  Of course, like any good blogger my mind went immediately from football to egg.  Football-egg, football-egg, football-egg.  Wouldn't yours?  I used some of the eggs that were floating around from the Chicks' birthday party and primed, painted, glazed...  The glazing really takes them over the top, they look like old wooden eggs.  In case you were wondering, the two white eggs in the carton, below, are real.

Which led to a hutch redo.    I don't usually decorate in red, white, and blue, but what's a girl to do?  The star was a thrift store find for $1, it was originally blue.

Wire basket?  Bust?  Two- and three-dollar thrift store finds.
The basket got a shot of black spray paint right before the photo session.

Ya got me!  Mini cloche-tastic.  YES.  Princess House.  Thrift store.
The tassel was hanging around from a holiday shopping bag.  The eggs are (painted) courtesy of a family friend, who wondered why I painted all of mine the same.  (You gotta love friends who will come over and paint eggs, though.)  Ouch.

There were a couple of other things I wanted to add, but got tired of waiting for Six-Foot chick to get the ladder out of the garage.  Oh well, you didn't know anything was missing, did you?  This is first in a four-week series that will post on Friday or Saturday with ideas for July 4th.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Fabric Fun Thursday a s-u-c-c-e-s-s!   Next week I will leave it open longer.  Don't forget my Giveway:
