Ruffled Toile Wreath

Ever since I experimented with my mini book wreath.  I've had mini wreaths on the brain.  For some reason they just work better around my house than the big ones.  I started with the same size cardboard form - by tracing a drinking cup.  Then used my toile napkins that I also made spheres with.  (It's amazing how much you can do with one pack of napkins!)

I cut the napkins in approximately 3-inch strips, folded them, then sewed with a basting stitch about 1/4-inch in from the cut edge.

Then I gathered the strips and hot-glued them onto my cardboard wreath form.

Sorry for this topsy-turvy picture, I was standing on a ladder.  To hang it, I used ribbon around the entire wreath and added a costume jewelry pin that used to be my mother's (I actually wore it myself when buttoned up collars were in style).  My little spray painted dollar-store bird wanted to be included.

This is the "little something extra" I wanted to include in my previous hutch post.   Shh, I think I'd like it better on a darker basket...

I'm on a mini-wreath kick, alright.  I can't wait to think of another place to put one!

I switched it out with a darker basket this morning and added my garden plaque.  Yes, I like it better.
I want to give a "shout out" to Joni from Red Couch Recipes who made my candy tower for her son's 16th birthday.
