Tiered Stand and Party Preview

Help!  I found this fantastic deal at Marshall's.  This super-cool tiered stand.  The original MSRP was $79, Marshall's prices was $39.99, the sale price was $15!  I walked around trying to decide if I should get it, but then I figured, for the price, I couldn't not get it.
The trays look kind of like driftwood.  My question is this:  Now what should I put in it???  I just loaded a bunch of Easter stuff that was hanging around in my hutch - I don't like this stuff here.  The stand will stay on the buffet in the dining room, so I want it to have a more dressy feel.  Would you put faux vegetables in it or what?  The decorating future of this piece depends on you!

Party Preview

Saturday, Artsy Chick and Fun-Size Chick are having a dual party.  Fun-Size Chick's is going to be based on a scavenger hunt.  Here's a couple of things I found.

Target had these cute bug-eggs.  (They also had eggs that were dark with prints of grass, rocks, and other outdoor items on them.  I really wanted those eggs, but was afraid they wouldn't get found until maybe when the lawn gets cut weeks from now.)

I printed a mapquest map of our subdivision, glued it on cardstock and also cut out an X from cardstock blown up 400%.  You know, for "X marks the spot..."  I thought about doing some aged sepia maps, but then decided young girls would like brighter colors.

I'm going to look at Walmart for white lunch bags.  They used to have them, however, our Walmart recently got a remodel, so even shopping there is like a scavenger hunt.

I got a new glue gun, so my burlap and jute project can continue.  I plan on posting a Smackdown project on Saturday, so I hope to see you then ~ happy face!

  3. What a great piece. I love the idea of some small potted plants, rattan orbs, silver, copper, brass, crystal, whatever you have. Just pull out a bunch of things and start playing. You will find you love it. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

  4. First of all, I think I'm going to stalk you! I'll just scarf up all the things you leave behind, because you're finding some great things!
I love the Easter stuff in the display, but I realize you don't want it there all year. I like the idea of greenery and candle, you know, like you did with your "basket tree" project you shared a while back... Great find!

  8. Fantastic buy on that tiered stand. If you are putting it in the dining room how about placing china cups, silver, glass and maybe a whimsical piece. The sky is the limit with that.

  9. Fancy Candie would look nice in one tier.

Does it spin? I would use it as a spice rack.

Maybe fancy napkins. And pretty canned jars in the bottom.
