Today it's this fab wooden bowl. It was smuggled out of (I paid for it, but felt like I was stealing it!) the thrift store at least a month ago. I snatched it out of the bin with all of the other wooden items, held it close to me, looked both ways to make sure no one would take it from me or run up and say it was miss-marked (It was $5! Squeal!)
The fun part, which I totally do not have a picture of, was painting it. Armed with both black and brown craft paints, I "striped" the paint on, so you can still see both the black and brown colors.
Before receiving the finishing gloss coat, it looked flat. The paint didn't feel smooth, either. I tried giving it a light sanding, but that didn't seem to help.
This is right after the finish, it's still wet. You can see the brown/black streaks. I forgot to mention, it's about 16" wide and 6" tall. It is beginning to look like I envisioned it that first day.
Insert Ooos and ahhs here!
One more successful Smackdown! What worries me is I'll do the easy ones first and be left with big projects that take l-a-r-g-e amounts of time to complete. Oh well, I can do step-by-steps on those, right? Right? Have a blessed weekend. I'm joining --
