Basket Dayz - An Egg

Photobucket

Welcome once again to Basket Dayz.  I feel like I have stepped on a rake since this hasn't gone very well.  However, I will stick it out.  Today's post was giving me nothing but trouble, but I've sufficiently whined here at home, so I'll spare you any extra whining.

I bought this egg, which really cost too much, from Big Lots.  (I wanted it to go with my ceramic egg - longer story).

Then I used this book I found at the thrift store that contains nothing but math formulas and tables.  (I bought it because we have several left-brained family members, me being one of them, so I thought it would be fun for craft projects.  Although I am secretly bummed out about tearing up perfectly good logarithms.)

I decopaged the egg, then decided I wanted to white wash it and glaze it, so combined the two, which gave me a strange unique fleshy color...  At this point I was thinking I might have to scrap the entire experiment (but Chelsea's at Room To Inspire turned out so good!).

I pulled out my favorite oval basket, added grocery bags.

Some of this...  This is a shot out of my back door.  I really don't use this Spanish moss for crafts.  I was going to try to bake it, but when I googled it, it made it sound like I should just buy it.

I found pretty satin ribbon (I used at Christmas) and tied it up.  I then added a wooden "M" I had painted and drilled a hole into.

I tried to get photos in the foyer, but daylight wasn't cooperating with me (I guess that qualifies as whining, sorry!)
Thank you Stephanie Lynn at Under the Table Dreaming for linking this up last week:

  3. I love your egg! It looks great! I tried to mod podge some plastic Easter eggs and my paper was too stiff. It was a flop of a project. I love the color of your ribbon. I looked for that exact color at Christmas and I had a hard time finding it. I'll be here next week too.
