Make Your Own Ornament Garland

I'm separating this out of my previous post "Christmas Decor Take 2" so weekend lurkers can get a peek at what I think is a super cool idea.

Take a closer look at the garland.  It is a take-off of the coat hanger wreaths that are so popular around blogland.

This is how it's done: Use bulbs 1" and 1 1/2" in diameter and string to your heart's content. And of course secure the ends. Note: I purchased my garland, so I did not string it all myself! The Dollar Store near me only had 1 1/2" bulbs. Walmart had a pack, but you'll probably want to wait till after Christmas (bucket o' bulbs) sales because it could get pricey, and that wouldn't be cheap or chic. Please let me know if you make this, I'd love to see some pictures! (Shown here is 15 bulbs making about 8" or so of garland.)

  5. Kim,
Thanks for the comments on my blog! The live greenery at my Costco was between the freezers and really easy to miss. I had people asking me where it was as I was leaving with a basket of it. Maybe they just don't have it yet, though...it really was a good deal.
