Christmas Deadline Project Revealed

Were you wondering how Cabby's house was coming along?
The above photo is the top of her piano.  She already had lots of accessories, much of them still in the boxes!!  Although, you may recognized the brass candlesticks from my tablescape post.  She needed something tall on that side of the piano because her ceiling angles up.  Since I didn't know if she had anything, I toted them along.  The fabric is a piece left over from her shower curtains.  (It looks like it could use a little finessing.)

Interesting note:  The white glass dome on the left hand side is an outdoor light fixture, on the backside is bare wiring!  I disguised the bulb area with greens and berries.

I spent hours there on Christmas Eve Eve and Saturday.  Saturday, my main job was hanging the living room window treatments.  She had prepurchased a rod.  I didn't double check the measurements before I drilled the holes, so the rod was too short!  She had an old spare narrower rod that matched, so we "spliced" it in.  It never ceases to amaze me at how many ways I can have "uh oh" moments!

This is a pulled back shot.  You can see the loveseat, chair and lamp from previous posts.  (After this photo was taken, I pulled the piano bench out for a coffee table and put a pretty gold star wire basket and a couple of other accessories on it.)

Remember this "Before"?

(This is the same wall as the previous photo, just moved over to the right.)

This is the slipper chair with it's custom pillow ~ smile!
(I didn't crop out the junk in the background because I wanted you to get a feel for the different areas.  (Next on the to do list is cleaning - but I don'na have to do that.)

We haven't seen the FOYER before:

A foyer arrangement of her collection of hooks for the dog's leash, umbrella, a small basket...

A closer shot.  Edited.  (I'm sorry for all the yellowy-ness.  Very sad face here.)

These are vintage watercolors from Cabby's mother-in-law from 1949 (or 1950) on the opposite foyer wall.  One of my most favorite things in the space.

Entry wall.

New chandy - remember the old one (below)?

Last little lovely.
This wall is as you are entering the kitchen.

[I have a few more photos.  I started using iphoto and it has a few more options than what I was using, but I CANNOT get the photos to save.  If they do "save" I don't know where they save to.  I double click when I am done editing and I get a bar that says "saving".  If you can tell me anything about this, I'd be happy to hear it!]

We really haven't gotten to the family room.  That will be next!
