Christmas Deadline Project

Since this is my first holiday season blogging, I have to figure out a strategy not to let my little blog get dusty and neglected. I think you all will have to become stowaways in my handbag or tote bag. This is what's up with my friend's house as shown in What's This Stuff For? post. From now on, I'll call my friend "Cabby". Here are some before shots of Cabby's living/dining area:

It's hard to tell, but the paint job is new and nice, as are the floors. I found a chandi at Lowe's that is traditional and chunky looking to balance out...

This is moving clockwise around the room. To the left is the doorway to the kitchen.

The only window in the room. It is getting new draperies. The fabric was ordered today. This is a look at the fabric selection process:

This is what we chose.
The living room doesn't get much light and this golden caramel color adds a little brightness to the space.
Wait a minute.
Back up. Where did the stripe cushion-y things come from and what are they. We haven't seen those before, have we?

Crazy good. Two slipper chairs. Don't they look like they were custom ordered to go with the lovey? Yes they do! Another Mr. Craig find (craigslist). They did not look like this online. I figured I'd take a chance a drive out to look at them, boy was I surprised! We got an amazing deal and they are in fab shape.

A little peak at the lovey sofa I found for her about a week and a half ago.

...This tiny little piano needs to be balanced out around the room. We have lots of work to do and may have to settle for "good enough" if we want to make it in time for Christmas!...
