I'll bet you can tell what direction this is going in!
Up & Out!
As you can see, there is a curtain rod mounted close to the ceiling and the wall.
This is another idea used by Healthy Chick that began last year in an unpainted dorm room. Now she is renting a house and has the benefit of painted walls.
This idea is
just as chic
now as it was then.

This idea could be used in lieu of a headboard on a narrower rod.
Yes, she made the sock monkey ("Hi, Mr. Sock Monkey!") and most of the pillows.

It extends to almost the other corner.
What Healthy Chick did:
Bought a cheap (we're talking college kid here)
curtain rod.
Then the little stinker (!) (Sorry, honey.) found the coolest
bed cover from Anthropologie-on sale.
The bed cover already had a hem pocket, so the
curtain rod was threaded through it.
The fabric is smoothed out (no kidding!) instead
of shirred. There you have it
massive
wall
art!
Thanks, honey!

Mom's note: I'm such a fabric junkie, that I think I will
snatch it one day and replace it with something else.
Do you think she'd notice?

This is a great idea! My twelve-year-old wants a NYC-style glamour loft look for her room, and this would work perfectly for behind her bed to ad depth and texture without breaking the bank. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYES--I certainly WOULD notice!! haha! I'm glad I could provide some inspiration :]
