I Forgive You, Ballard

Remember the Mr. and Mrs. pillows I made for Healthy Chick's wedding?  Of course, you do!  Well, when I was perusing the latest Ballard Designs catalog, I saw these pillows:
Huh?!  Double take.  Were these in the catalog last season?  I don't feel like trying to locate an old catalog, so maybe you remember.  So let's see--theirs are French-i-fied more with Monsieur and Madame and have a couple of other minor, minor changes.  Otherwise...

Ballard Designs you're such a source of inspiration, I'll forgive you.  Maybe.  Oh, and their price?  Sixty-five dollars each.   What if I've inadvertently copied them--oops, blushing--it may happen again.

(The Mrs. pillow is rumbled on the bottom, because at photo-shoot time, it was not fully stuffed or stitched.)

  3. Coincidence? I wonder. I know we get inspiration from the catalogs of these stores but I don't for one minute think they don't search blogs looking for great ideas like your pillows! And if it was a coincidence....you, my dear, are just ahead of the curve!
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. I was just telling my husband today that I am seeing ideas from my favorite bloggers (that includes you of course) showing up in catelogs and magazines about six months later. For instance the burlap trend and pillows with ruffles. But I guess it is only fair, we copy their ideas all the time.

  8. I love yours a lot more ... and yes ... the catalogs are coming to the blogs to "FIND" their inspiration. It happened in the Decorative Art field years ago ... people were creating wonderful things and the imports were copying and selling.

  9. I'd say they have good taste if they copied you!!! I do think that catalogs watch blogs to spot HOT trends and things that are new. Wanna sue them?;>) xo Diana
