Finger Lickin', Lip Smackin' BBQ Sauce


Oopsy, I was going to add this recipe at the end of my under cabinet light post, but forgot.  You'll forgive me, won't you?  Plus, that explains why the lighting is so weird--I shot it at night under those lights.  Okay, I'm getting really sidetracked, now.

The other day, I.  Could.  Not.  find the BBQ sauce in the 'frig.  I figured, "okay, it just got used up the last time we needed it.  I'll just make a batch."  On to the Google recipe search.  Most, I mean MOST of them started with catsup.  Ew.  Not a good starting point.  I finally found one that started with a tomato paste base, um, come to momma...

The original recipe can be found at Cooks.com.  I used theirs, but made it mine.  I like sweet BBQ sauce, okay, since you must know, Bulls Eye is my favorite.  This turned out just about spot-on.  What are the odds?  (By the way, the BBQ sauce was, indeed, in the 'frig after all, I just didn't see it, oh well, finding this recipe made it all worth while.)

Finger Licken', Lip Smackin'
BBQ Sauce
1 6-oz. can tomato paste
3/4 c. water
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 Teas. Liquid Smoke, or more to taste

Simmer for 30-45 min. OR if you are going to use it in a baked or crockpot recipe, just bring to a boil, then add it to your recipe.  This stuff will blow you away!


-->Just so you know, my mom's going in for a heart cath. this a.m. (I used auto post) and will have open-heart surgery scheduled for early next week.

  1. This is how we make ours homemade to. Maybe not the exact same measurements, but the same ingredients. The best!!!
