Copy Cat Cloche

I want to introduce Copy Cat Day, any project that you made that you were inspired to copy by another blogger (see my Jane Austen post), friend, popular store (i.e., Pottery Barn,
Ballard's, Anthro etc.) is perfect.  Next Monday, July 18, I'd love to see you all back here to link up your Copy Cat ideas.   Grab the little kitty button below and start planning.

In the meantime, here is an easy Copy Cat idea that we've seen around blogland for you to make with items you can find during your thrift store excursions.

  1. Assemble items:  Ironstone plate $1, candle hurricane $2, love birds $1 or any other item that you'd like, drapery finial 2/$1, extra drapery rod finial disk.  I left my topper white, but feel free to paint it.
  2. Place lovebirds on plate
  3. Set lantern, upside down over birds
  4. Place disk over glass opening
  5. Set finial into disk hole
  6. Glue top pieces onto glass with your favorite glue (or not)
There you have it, a sweet, romantic Copy Cat cloche for about $4.50.

Add whatever else you have around the house for a romantic feel.   Note:  The antique photo in my first picture is my great-grandmother and her husband, she was married several times, scandalous for the turn of the century.

Grab the kitty and enter my Chocolate Espresso Bean Giveaway before you go!

  1. This is a great idea! I will be participating in this, for sure (unless real life takes over my blog life again...)
Will be taking your button and posting about it.

  2. Have you been reading my mind? As I sorted my photos onto Pinterest I realized that I save so many ideas from others that I need to actually do something. I hope to have something made for Monday. My camera has been giving me attitude lately.

  3. Cute idea. Hope to join in. Love the cloche. Would you believe I don't own a single cloche? Been after a couple but want to find inexpensive ones at yard sales and that takes more time. This is darling.

    Much love!
