This idea could have been done by countless bloggers thus far... My idea was inspired by Just Born's chocolate-covered chick Peeps.
You can easily see the method to my madness here. I started with bunny-shaped Peeps. Melted candy melts in a double boiler, put a stick into bunny posterior...
Helpful Tips: After the chocolate melts in your double boiler, remove from burner and let sit for a minute or two so it's not at its hotest.
I found it easier to use a butter knife to spread the chocolate onto the bunny--it's not as tedious as it sounds and goes really quickly. Dipping seemed to encourage melting and it made the bunny form less crisp looking.
I would also not put these into the 'frig, just let them harden on the counter. When I pulled these out of the 'frig this morning, they were white looking (I don't remember that happening before--okay, I know about "blooming" and such--I just don't remember the melts doing this). These photos were taken after they were out for a couple of hours and you can still kind of see the white.
They are super delicious! Although, they are super sweet. I think I liked them better when I was making them and used a spare bunny to wipe the chocolate pan clean and ate that. Yum, yum!
