This is a simple little pillow that I decided to whip up. I wanted to join Kim at The Twice Remembered Cottage this year for her Fifth Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway. I missed it last year, 'cause I just wasn't organized enough, I guess. I know, I know, I just recently had a giveaway and would not normally do one again this quickly, but what's a girl blogger to do?
I had the fabric leftover from my table runner that I did awhile ago. Originally, I had started to make gathered welting, but it just wasn't going my way, so plain it was.
Just look at those delicate leaves--so pretty! I had a pink zipper languishing around from who-knows-when, so I used that. This was a simple construction. I cut my fabric in 19" squares, basted the bottom seam, sewed the zipper in, then sewed the three sides together. (The Giveaway will be for the pillow cover only -- you will need to supply your own 18" pillow form.)
I pulled out my bunting flags for a photo op.
You can link up your cottage-themed giveaway at The Twice Remembered Cottage starting May 1. Winners will be announced May 29. I will repost a photo of the pillow on Sunday for you to leave comments on to join in the fun. While you're at it, why don't you consider adding your own giveaway to the mix? Commenting on this post (while I hope you do!) will not count toward the giveaway.

Lovely pillow, Kim. I'm just crazy about all things toile! Blue, Black, Red, Pink, Yellow. You name it! I've never really tried my hand at sewing, but I think in reality that's a good thing. Hubby would probably have a heart attack if I put one more toile accessory in the house! LOL I try, but it's so hard....
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, your pillow is beautiful. I am a sucker for toile. Thanks for the heads up about the giveaway. I will see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteI just love anything toile. That pillow is just beautiful...and thanks for the giveaway info. Maybe I'll give it a try. I've been wanting to do a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
I am loving your blog! Your pillow is super cute. I took a peak back at your roman shade posts and picked up a few tips on how to improve on my next creation. I love the fabric you went with too!
ReplyDeleteI have not yet ventured into giveaway territory. I am not sure I am ready.
ReplyDeleteBut I love the toile pillow.
