Valances, re-upolster dinning room chairs, make pillows, table runner, or if you have a white mattlese bed coverlet you could sew an strip of this material down the middle and maybe have enough material left over for shams or sham trim or two accent pillows to create a pulled together look in your bedroom.
I love this material. Would love to have some myself!~Ames
He isn't angry at YOU, he is impatiently waiting for Spring, is all! I would personally use them as draperies with some beautiful passementerie...that way I could live in the scene with them every day! What a perfect color for bird toile...the sky!
I like the idea of an accent chair being covered in this and then use the scraps(and maybe some coordinating fabric) for a pillow to tie the fabric to something else in the room.
I bought a fabric with a bird motif that I am planing on making a Room divider screen with... I figured, its a way to add a wallpaper look to a plain area with maybe a chair to read in front of it... I also am going to take a few of the birds on the material and make throw pillows to pull the design into the room. Whatever you do with it, it will be GORGEOUS and we'll be waiting for pictures of the finished project! LOVE THE COLORS! Hugs, Donna
Shower curtain? But might be cutting the yardage close if the repeat is really big. Pillow shams and a matching scaldino for the bed? Cover for a large ottoman?
After looking at your Home Tour. I think it would look nice to replace the little brown swag on the crown above your bed with it. Add a runner or pillow to the chair. Make a pillow for the bed and use the shower curtain fabric that you have on the pillows now as trim or even little rosettes to go over a few of the flowers that are on the print. Then add some to the tops of the window treatments. Maybe even paint the wall behind the bed a blue-grey (that's in the fabric)to make it all pop.
Wow I want that fabric. Drapes would be gorgeous! Or table linens. Or you can never have too many pillows. If you have five yards, make a statement with it.
I see it on something big. Like large euro pillows or a chair. What a gorgeous piece of fabric. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Probably something none of us thought of!
The fabric is beautiful.....love the blue and the birds. I can just picture a large french wingback chair with this fabric on the cusions, seat and back....all the insides of the chair and a contrasting fabric on the sides and back. You would definitely have some fabric left for a few pillows or a table runner which I think would be lovely.
That is HILARIOUS! That bird does look miffed! LOL! I think you should recover a seat cushion or make pillows. Whatever you do will be gorgeous! Vanessa
I love the idea of curtains or a room divider. Such great fabric - it's a classic. Whatever you do, it will never go out of style. Can't wait to see what you do with it! -Nan
Right when I saw it I thought: Pillows! But, I like your idea of a table runner too! It would be just enough without being too much!
ReplyDeleteLet us know what you decide :)
That is such a large print I am thinking upholstery.

I see a room divider, three paneled, ivory, distressed, with the fabric softly shirred on dowels top and bottom. And hide Mr miffed bird in the folds!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Helen, a room divider or wall screen sounds gorgeous! The fabric is lovely and just sings SPRING!

ReplyDeleteWow 5 yards that is a lot. Do you need some new valances and throw pillows to match? Like the table runner idea also. Very pretty.

ReplyDeleteSherry
Teresa had a great idea.....replacing the little crown piece above your bed. Then I'd quilt the rest and make accent pillows and a bedrunner.
ReplyDeleteIt does look miffed! What about a roman blind? You do have a lot so you have a lot of options.
