Conquering the Condo

Condo

By now you know that I've been helping my mom move from her home to her new condo.  Yesterday, I was helping her get the living room set up.  She wants to get a flat screen TV, as well as, take a look at new LCD TV stands.  The one she has now was hand made by my dad. While that's cool, very cool, it's just too big to work well in the room.

The TV setup did have two 3-ft. tall speakers, which are not making the cut!  We are also trying to figure out where to put which art pieces and mirrors.  The round mirror was previously in the guest room, but it might work better above the console table (which was previously in the foyer).

Fortunately, she already purchased some new things in the last few years that will work well (some similar examples, and wish list items, shown in top mood board).   We're really trying to get it to function well, as it's smaller than her prior home.  (Very few baby dolls were hurt during this photo shoot.)

The TV wall is on the left in the above photo.  There are quite a few things on her wish list including a new dining set and hutch.  It's really going to be a whole-condo decor project.

Stay tuned...we've already purchased a new kitchen sink and faucet and have estimates coming on other projects.

Don't forget my Spring Giveaway, going on now!

  1. I have to say that a clean slate is always an invigorating challenge for me, even if it's not my own place. I prefer an eclectic mix of old and new anyway, so I think this project would be really fun.

Having seen what you've done (and continue to do) with your own place, I'm sure your mom's new place will be really lovely when you're finished.

Good luck with everything! I hope you and your mom have a great time figuring it all out together!
