Be Still My Krispie Heart

It's next to impossible to improve on a classic--so, I won't be as presumptuous as to say I'm making any improvements, just holiday-ing up the classic Rice Krispie treats that we all love.

I purchased a heart-shaped cupcake pan from Ross, buttered it up then added my treat recipe (it made nine hearts, plus some nibbling leftovers for impatient onlookers).  It only took a few minutes in the refrigerator for the treats to harden enough to be popped onto waxed paper.   For the following step, I melted white candy melts in my double boiler.

Using a serving spoon, I held the hearts over the pan and spread white chocolate over one-half of the heart including the bottom, then liberally added my sprinkles.  (Maybe it's the kid in me, but any food project that involves *sprinkles* is just plain fun!)

Next, just one more trip to the 'frig to set the chocolate and they were ready to be eaten for the photo shoot.

While I was taking these pictures, I wondered why in the world I didn't buy regular chocolate...

I just {heart!} this twist on a classic favorite, don't you?!  (Pun intended!)

I'm sharing my heart here:
