Looking Ahead

My previous post was for Best of 2010, but what's up for 2011???  (Here's one hint:  Top photo is Martha Steward paint that I purchased for next to nothing as a Home Depot Facebook follower!  I think all of these sample pots were $5-$7 including shipping!  They will definitely be part of future projects!)  If you've been with me for awhile, you'll remember I had a smackdown list for part of the year.  Did I accomplish it all?  Well, I can't prove it now, but I believe I left two three things undone.  One was slipcovering Darling Husband's chair, also working on a cracked mirror, and making a moss wreath...  Let's not dwell on the UNDONE.

I thought I'd put together a To-Do List for the upcoming year.  It will give us all something to look forward to.  Note:  The list is subject to continuous change at the whims of the blog author.  Here is a partial list, in no particular order:

Decorate Fun-Size Chick's bedroom.  I don't think you've ever gotten to see this room.  This is a very discrete shot (believe me, it's in everyone's best interest) from my "Gitter Done" post.  I'm thinking yellow, orange, pink with maybe some pops of green, using what we already have.

Finish slipcovering my loft ottoman.  You got a sneak-peek of this in my Christmas Decor post.  I just adore the grainsack inspiration!

Put together a family silhouette.  This is a inspirational example from The Pennington Point.  I saw hers this year and thought it was a perfect rendition.  I have the necessary components, after all.  A discarded frame and a family!  --If you read the previous sentence quickly, it looks like a discarded family!--  Not so!

Jigsaw project--yes, it did come it my Christmas "stocking"!   See the long tray (above)?  I think it will be a great project to use both my miter saw and new jigsaw.  I know it's just straight cuts, but, my jigsaw will bevel the edge -- the project needs a beveled edge after all...  The photo is from the Pottery Barn store, Christmas '09.

Reupholster my wingback chair.  This is its mate.  My, my, you've seen this chair pulled here and there all over my house.  The matching one is still in its original burgundy fabric--I even have the fabric to finish it.   Sigh, gotta get to all of the fabric removal.  Anyone who's done reupholstery, knows that's the "fun" part!

Make a runner or another sewing project, inspired by my friend Sonya.

I can't leave out re-imagining (ooo {heart} that word!) thrift store finds!  See my Junk Finial HERE.

Celebrate Healthy Chick's graduation from nursing school and Six-Foot Chick's graduation from high school!

Yikes!  And this all starts..  Next.  Week.
