Faux Mantel Romance

Time to break out the toile, as teased about in my last post.  I really had a more difficult time putting this faux mantel together than I anticipated.  I hate when that happens!

Here is the "finished" result.

I took these pink pearls out for my frame post, and thought they were just right for this arrangement.

As was my petite bust.

And these lovely tapestries that are vintage at this point.  I purchased them in "France" when Darling Husband and I went to Epcot.  Cough, cough, before children.

My darling new vase (can one refer to an elephant as "darling?") that I recently found at the consignment store.  He's really going in the family room, but I thought the soft teal would look great with the pink.

I just had to get the full ruffle effect by placing each end of the runner toward the center, it has a petticoat feel.  Yes, I was messing around with light tuning.

The basket of daisies is destined to be donated, although they're pulling their weight right now, they've been sitting around moving from here to there for far too long.  I should have messed around more with light tuning.

He looks like he's laughing.  I'll bet he's glad to be here...

I big-puffy-heart how my runner turned out.  I'll show it to you in it's full length, soon.

I'm sharing the love here:

  16. Hi Kim! I absolutely ADORE that toile runner and want one for my home! That would mean dragging out the sewing machine though so I will just covet yours for now. :-)
Everything looks gorgeous and I agree that the teal in the elephant works perfectly against the pink. Great job!
