Loft-y Decisions

As I am slowly moving through my home's never-ending to-do list, one of my goals is to get my loft looking as presentable as the rest of my home.  One of the things I need to do is decide amongst a selection of console tables.  My home has contemporary bones, but regular readers know I liberally combine a lot of French inspired elements with a few contemporary items sprinkled in here and there.

This is the fabric for the window treatments (it's really a little too similar to the living room fabric, but I ordered it and couldn't return it.  I think it will be beautiful regardless, how can you go wrong with embroidered faux silk - really?)

You can see the loft from my living room, it's above and behind where my son is sitting. What do you think?  French, contemporary, something in between?  I'd appreciate any suggestions you decorating divas have to offer.

  1. I love the way you combine contemporary and french, so I would do something the same way. Love the drapery fabric. Your home is stunning. Hugs, Marty

  2. I love the console with the "X" bottom. It's not overly busy and has just a soft, flowing curve to it. The Scrolled base is almost too much and the straight legged one is a tad too chunky and plain. You seem to have a lot of gently curved lines, including the looped embroidery of the drapery fabric. I think the X based console would flow more graciously, if that makes sense.

Love, love, love that drapery fabric! Elegant but not over the top. And the color is to die for. Hope you plan to post the "after" pics!

    Blessings and Peace,
    Martha

  3. Thanks so much for visiting! My vote is for table #1;it will fit nicely with contemporary/French decor. So happy to learn about Fabric Fun Thursday! I am saving a bed with fabric as we speak. Can't wait to join the party in the next couple of weeks.

  4. First, I love that fabric - beautiful! Second, go with the "somewhere in between" option. I tend to get sick of it if I stick with any one "style". Blending styles just feels right. Your home is so pretty, I'm sure it will turn out great!

  6. First of all, I LOVE the fabric for your window treatments! Just gorgeous! In my humble opinion, I would pick something similar to the console with the scroll-work underneath. The lines are straight and contemporary but that iron work detail gives it some flair and seems like it would tie in well with your coffee table. Whatever you do it will be beautiful!

  7. I like both of the metal tables. I love the scrolls on the one on the right but I am drawn to the flow of the first picture. I am glad it is not me having to decide.

  8. Of all three consoles pictured, I like the first one. I think it fits best with the overall look of your home and is less likely to date compared with the scroll work of third console. The second one is too staid for my liking.

The first one has a simplicity and elegance that the other two don't.
