Five-Seconds to a Perfect Flower Arrangement

Through the miracle of modern Post Options, I'm able to bring this post to you today.  You know how you are going along, minding your own business and you get (what you think) is a brilliant idea for a blog post?  Well, this is one of those times.  I've been doing major cleaning, picking up, and arranging because we are having a group of friends over this weekend.  I wanted to "fall-up" (ha ha, not foul up) the top of the entertainment center using sunflowers--which I've not used before--because I've had a bunch sitting in my closet that came with a basket that has never gotten used.  AND I was putting a comforter away today (Wednesday) in Fun-Sized Chick's closet and saw a sunflower wreath that used to hang in her room.  So sunflowers it is...  You've just spent more time reading this paragraph then you will making this arrangement!

Step No. 1
Get a basket slightly smaller than the size of your wreath (it can be any shape, mine happens to be oval).

Step No. 2
Set your wreath on the top of your basket.  This wreath has a semi-pliable plastic back.

Step No. 3
Using one or more floral branches, I used two...

...Poke them into the center of your wreath.

Perfectly done!!!  Fluff and finesse as needed.  Isn't this the coolest?  The possibilities are endless.  (I like the top photo better, but I wanted to give you a different one down here.)

This is where the arrangement is residing now.  I stuffed more sunflowers in it because I pushed the basket further back than usual, so the red was in the shadows.

This is the left side.  My gold dish looks out of place, I just couldn't figure out something I was happy with under a time crunch.

I adore the curved copper handle on the basket pitcher.

The right hand side.

I had to try to zoom in on this sculpture, my son made it about five years ago.

My fun find, it's the perfect shade of orange-y red for my room.  I tried and tried to get a better shot of this.  I'm going to be getting lights for my photos, I can feel it.

  2. Ok, I NEVER would have thought to use a wreath like that! So crafty and creative! Even I, who am definitely craft-challenged could do this one! :-)
I'm hosting an Inspiration Friday party and would love this post to be included if you felt so inclined!
    Thanks for the great tips!

  3. Really?? You are kidding! I cannot believe how you did that! I am amazed. I cannot make flower arrangements. It takes me forever, and the more unconstructed I want them to look, the worse they get. This is such a great idea!!

  4. Love it! What a great idea to use a wreath! I don't have the basket pitcher, that must have come after I left Longaberger. Of course now I want one desperately!! Hope you have a great weekend with your company!

  5. You are so clever! I do the same thing when we are having people over. A mad dash to clean as well as redecorate all in too little time!
