Thrifty Fork and Spoon

Q:  What do you get when you cross a funky yellow fork and spoon with some oil rubbed bronze spray paint?

A:  Some updated kitchen art!

I found these recently for $3 at GW.  They are metal and about 16 inches long.  I've been wanting something for this wall for quite some time.  I'd really prefer a decorative shelf with a pretty plate.  However, this door leads out to the pool area, so I figured anything that was bump-into-able was not such a great idea.

I'm so glad I found metal ones that are in a classic style.  Was I lucky, or what? I'm linking with:

  6. They're a fun twist to the old wooden sets. They look great. I can see a big frame around them too. I try to be careful around the doors too. Things are always moving!

  19. Oh, Kim! Wouldn't "Eat" look good on an adjacent wall? I'll have to get you the pattern and video so you can give it a try. Would be too cute with that gorg fork & spoon!

  20. Love these. My grandparents had giant fork and spoon on their wall...they are at my parents now...I want them. Until then, I have found a few sets at GW, etc. But have done nothing...yet! So many projects so little time.

  23. I have a similar fork and spoon that were pink when I got them! I painted them silver and have them hanging on my wall. I have another, heavier set that is red. I found it in an antique shop.
