Dining Room Reveal

There are still a few odds and ends that haven't been completed--but I just hate to keep saying "dining room reveal soon!"  So, you're gettin' it today {happy face}!  I just purchased the above vase from the thrift store.  I saw two of them last week and hemmed and hawed.  And hemmed and hawed some more.  This one is a "trial."  By the bonding that's been going on, I'd say I'll be back getting the matching one.
The tapestry on the ledge shelves were purchased by me for my mom many years ago at EPCOT, that she no longer was using.

Other changes.  It all started with the fabric I found at Old Time Pottery.  Which led to slipcovers, which led to changing pretty much everything else.

I never did bond with the trays, and as much as I liked the tiered stand, I didn't have the proper lovelies to fill it up with, plus it was looking too cottage-y anyway.
The dress form came.  And went.  You'll see what's on the buffet, now, if you keep scrolling down.

These are the slipcovers made with the yellow fabric that you saw on a previous post.  Can you see the end chair is the white background floral fabric?  Note:  We're looking toward the living room.

My redone "duck" tray and silk runner from my previous post.  The floral arrangement is made from things I had around, plus the addition of the yellow flowers that I found the same time I purchased the fabric.  The silk is a light green which I purposely chose because dark colors disappear with the lighting in this room.
I just {heart} this lumbar pillow here--I have two of these which float around because their colors just work.
Moving over taking the photo toward the windows--Do you see the change?  From this direction, the slipcover backs are white.  Cool, huh?  One side is yellow, the other white.  Was I trying to be clever?  Heck, no!  If you remember I had five yards of each fabric.  I've had to use every scrap to get all of this to work, so doing the backs half and half was a necessity (everything was lined with lining fabric, the welting was done with ivory denim).
Way back in the corner is the decorative shelf that has been in my closet for ages.  It was one of those things that I was going to return but-uh-never got around to it.  The clock will get hung, I just didn't have anything else to put there - yet!

My mother and child picture got moved from the wall to an easel on the buffet.
In this shot, you can see the white on the left and yellow on the right.
Unfinished details:  There are no ties on the seat skirts.  What I discovered was part of the way through this, the yellow fabric really doesn't work in the space.  The colors "yes", the style "no".  I also am not crazy about the ties in this formal of a space.  On the UP SIDE, I now love walking through here.  It was such a boring dead zone before.  It feels like it's part of the house, not just a neglected space.

I thought you'd like to see the before-before's. (click on the photos to enlarge them) THIS IS THE DINING ROOM!  You can tell by the peach color and placement of the windows.  While we were having the rest of the house remodeled all five, yes five, of the kids slept in here.  We lovingly referred to it as the "bunkhouse".

Phew, one more shot to get the bunkhouse out of your mind!  Yeah baby, I'm showing this off with:
