Go Thrift! And A Dilemma

Ooo, what have we here?

Thrift goodies, of course!  Most of 'em waitin' for an amazin' transformation.  A couple of things are to copy Marty at A Stroll Thru Life.  The paper whites?  They look so real.  They were just dirty, so got a good cleaning.  Total for everything:  A whoppin' $13.  (By the way, if ya'll can't tell, I've been havin' too much fun with my photo shoots and edits - {smilin' ear-to-ear!}.)

On to my decorating dilemma:  Now as far as dilemmas go, this should be an easy one.  What should I do with this?:
This is a Bicentennial Bible (KJV) that I bought for my parents for their 25th wedding anniversary.  My darling husband and I have passed our 25th wedding anniversary.  It's been stored for years.  I had it in a donate box not long ago, but then rescued it out.  Should I keep it?  If so, what should I do with it, just mingle it in with my other accessories?  It's about 11" x 9" x 3".  I do have silver in my living room, but I could cover it.  Or, put it back in the donate box...

  1. Oooo, keep it! I would just use it to decorate with and I definitely wouldn't cover it. Maybe put a framed pic of your parents on top, since it was their bible?

  2. Oh I can't wait to see what you do with all your treasures. As for the Bible, I would definitely keep it. A precious keepsake, then I am so sentimental anyway. Ok, so hurry up and finish your creations and show us. lol Hugs, Marty

  3. I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but I would keep it. I am sentimental about things and there is something about a bible that I find hard to get rid of at our house, too! Love your finds!! I have been spending WAY too much time at the thrift stores lately. Even a few dollars starts to add up!

  7. What a great group of treasures. I agree - keep the family Bible. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I will have to get back to you with the "true" definition of ironstone.

  8. Great stuff Kim! That little lamp is so cute and just the right size for a kitchen counter. Or it looks like it is! The paper white do look real. I may be the odd one but I can't stand the smell of real ones! So fake is good for these.

  9. Great book! I'd definately keep it: prop it on a shelf, put it in a plate rack.

Thanks so much for posting my button. Looking forward to having you with us.

  10. So I know it was meant to be a gift, but it never was gifted. I think people have way too hard of a time de-junking. There is such a thing as too sentimental. If it was any other book I'd say rip out the pages and use them for a craft. This one however, either keep and display or pass it on so it can be put to good use!

  11. If it is special to you, I say cover it with some cute paper and use it to decorate on a table or shelf.

  12. Definitely keep it b/c it has some family significance to it. Just be sure to add a note to the inside so others know why it's important. :)

I love Kendall's idea of displaying it with a (wedding?) photo of your parents on top. Make a little vignette with it!

Thank you so much for linking up to my party! I hope you have a fun time visiting around. :)

  13. I say keep it! I like Kendall's idea of using it in a display. If you don't want to display it I say tuck it away so you can pass it down!

  14. Wow - what a great keepsake. Maybe buy a shadowbox and put the book in it along with a picture of your parents. Or find some way to display it along with a picture of them. That is awesome!
