Attic and Plant Ledge TURN BEDROOM!

This is "before" when we were looking at the house.  Prior to  bidding on the house, we consulted with an architect to see if we could make the changes we wanted.  LOTS of photos in this post.  (Some photos have double watermarks, because the Picasa on my Mac works differently than the computer with microsoft where these older photos are stored.)

And so it starts.  A bridge is constructed between the upstairs loft to the plant ledge.  See the stair rail still remains at the right, we climbed over that for months when we needed to get over to the other side.

The walls are starting to get roughed in.  Beyond the back set of 2x4s is where the attic started over the garage.  (Yes- It got air conditioned up there.   I have no idea why.)

The curved area will become the new shower and bathroom.

Adding an extra four feet or so over the foyer even with the plant ledge.

The floor, wall, and overhang are being added.  Since this post is already pretty long, I think I'll show you the AFTER on my next post -- see you soon!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM from my last pantry post?  Oh, you astute blog readers.  No, we don't take our dirty clothes out back and beat them on rocks!  This is where it is now:

You've seen a bit of this area before.  This hallway leads to the master bedroom, the doorway on the right is where the laundry now resides.  We added the new doorway.
Here is the inside of my Darling Husband's office (chair(s) and bookshelves from CL!  The walls are a pretty sage, it's hard to tell.)  behind this chair used to be a bathroom, to the left of the chair used to be a walk in closet.  Both of those were torn out and closed off to make the laundry room.
Here's a small peek.  You can see it's white-all white!  It's pretty functional.  A laundry sorting bin, some wire shelves with plastic storage boxes.   My sewing area is directly opposite the washer and dryer.  One day I'll fix it up and take a better picture maybe.
The laundry room is directly under the chicks' bathroom, so we had the handyman put a laundry chute from their linen closet down here.  It works better in theory than in practice.  In practice it gets stuffed with big, thick towels {insert my aggravated face here}.
