Friend Day and My Favorite Vase

Today is Friend Day!  I wanted to say "Hey!" to blogger One Cheap B*tch.  (Also know as Jeanine!)  She regularly stops by to make comments and has her own hoppin' blog to boot.  She participates in craft shows and has her own etsy store.  Be sure to check out all of her talent.

~My favorite vase~

I pulled this out the other day because we had company for dinner this past weekend.  What I enjoy about it is I can toss a handful of flowers in it and providing they have long stems, I get a lovely (well, I consider it lovely) arrangement  ("Tossing" = My kind of decorating!).  If you are good at flower arrangements, this vase might not be for you - you know who you are!  This is how a $3 bunch of Publix flowers looks.
It is slim, rectangular (12" H x 8" L x 2 1/2" D) and quite heavy.  I purchased it at Pottery Barn (this is before I started blogging and didn't realize what a big "who-ha" PB is in blog world).  I had seen a similar vase in a decorating book used with a lot of ornate furniture - so I knew it was versatile.
To clean it out, I rubberband a paper towel around the handle of a long wooden spoon, squirt glass cleaner down each side and scrub away.
I {hearty-heart} that the clear vase makes the stems sculptural, too.  I have seen very similar vases in Old Time Pottery, which weren't as thick, but were cheaper.  One last peek...
I know you ladies with green thumbs will have an abundance of beautiful home-grown flowers to put in one of these soon.

  1. I sure love indoor greenery, but my little kitty helper Tabitha loves to nibble on the real stuff...I'm afraid I have to go faux! :)

  2. Bonjour Kim,

I love the vase. But I'm lazy. I would just put it in the dishwasher. Our snow is almost gone and already tulips are sprouting about an inch out of the dirt. Finally some greenery. While you are decorating baskets we here in the Great White North are "basket" cases when winter ends. About "the" article I will just say I also feel the same about it as you do!

I didn't know much about PB before blogging at all. He!

  4. Ha! Home grown flowers? I kill everything. Maybe M&M's would be better in it if I owned it! ROFL!!! It is a beauty though!
Hey! got your note that you finally got your giveaway. I'm glad. Now, what are you doing with 'em? (giggle)
