I'm feeling better, but not 100%. To top it off it's drearily raining outside.
That's not why I'm blue, though!
I have been wanting to add a little cheery life to my family room and decided to pull all the blues and creams from around the house I could find.
The innocent candlestick? It was a GW find for $2 originally in plain-Jane pine, got blue paint and glazing.
I wish they would have had more, I love the contemporary lines and chunkiness!
My attempts at making toile spheres with napkins...
I got my decoupage glue on my hands, my counter, my coffee mug
...it's probably in the dishwasher.
Little finger-sized pieces of napkins came off the spheres while I was sticky, too.
Are you feeling as blue as me? My pillows are even blue... (well a couple of them).
Are you making any cheery pre-spring changes?
Don't forget!
I will be joining the following linky parties:
Lovin' all the BLUE Kim...that candlestick is my fav! I hope you GET WELL SOON!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Love that blue candlestick and the white artichoke! That is enough to cheer anyone up. I hope you feel better soon, but while you are down and out you should take the time to watch something really indulgent and girly, like Emma on masterpiece theatre (it's online!)
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling blue too, Kim. Blue is my favourite colour. Love all the blue loveliness you have pulled together.
ReplyDeleteI searched for my mod podge (from several years ago) this week and couldn't find it. Then I remembered I had given it away when I thought I wouldn't need it again. That was pre-blogging days, before I found all these great blogs and ideas. I need to pick some more up now.
I hated blue for years, but am suddenly attracted to it again. I think the 80's blue and mauve did me in, but today's blues are so much more fun and crisp, I want them everywhere. So glad to here you are feeling better. I actually really like your toile sphere's (I love saying sphere, it is a family joke, but it made me so happy to wee it used in your post).
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Cha Cha

You ask if I'm making cheery pre-spring changes -- I'd just like to get our house renovation finished - we've been working on it 7 years now and it's still not done!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Thanks for coming by Sassafras today and leaving some input about my kitchen! It always makes me feel better to get some affirmation from someone other than my husband!! I love all your aqua blues....they are very cheery! Hope you are feeling better very soon!

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm loving all the blue. So, exactly how did you do those balls? I've been wanting some for a basket in the family room but can't seem to find any I like. Custom is the way to go and I love Mod Podge. This could be a great project for me!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS.
I love the blue colors you picked out.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Did you know that the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality? Which is why many people use it on their fence posts and in their homes. I just learned that a couple of days ago.

ReplyDeletestop by my goodwill goodies blog party every wednesday!
I'm in heaven looking at that beautiful shade of blue! I want some in my house, but it would not look that good with my color scheme.
