Blog Tips - No. 3A

This post is for Australian blogger, Cindy of Shabby and Sweet, I was going to e-mail her, but decided to do this post just in case anyone else needed the information.

Adding your signature:
You can either click on my signature (below), or log into mylivesignature.com.  Follow the directions there.  Mylivesignature.com has a selection of over 100 styles and several slant angles for you to choose from.  It might be a good idea to save your signature with a transparent background, even if you are currently using a white background.  That way, in the future, if you decide to put some color on your page, your signature won't stay in a white rectangle (that's experience speaking - smile!)  I copied the html code and pasted it into Settings, Formatting, Posting - so every time I bring up my New Post screen, it's already there.

Cindy also wanted to know how to Add posts to MckLinky parties
1.  Go to the blog that you want to add your link to.
2.  Open up another tab and log into your blog. 
3.  In your blog, click on the title of the post you want to link up, in your address bar it should look something like: http://cheapchichome.blogspot.com/2010/02/blog-tips-no-3.html  (Notice it contains my blog name, year, actual post name.)
4.  Use your copy function on your address bar to capture all of that info.
5.  Go back to the blog you want to add your link to, click on the "Your link next" at the party.  It will give you a screen with two lines to fill in.
6.  The first line you will put the name you want displayed at the party, for instance:  Blog Tips @ Cheap Chic Home.
7.  The second line is your actual link - now you go to that line and do your "paste" function from the address bar in Step 4.  This step is important because you want to direct people to the correct post.
Your link up is done, but you're not done!
8.  Go back to your original post and edit it.  Add the button or name and link of the blog where you are linking up as a courtesy to the host blog.  (You can also do this step FIRST if you want - some people put the hosting blog at the top in the case of a specialized post.)

You must do this for every single MckLinky party you want to join - so if it's seven parties, you need to do this seven separate times.  Best of luck!  If you would like practice linking up - starting tomorrow evening at about 10p. you can link right here to any posts that involve baskets.  I hope to see you then!
