Rejuvinated Angel Tablescape

*Edited to add*  I'm linking to:
Between Naps on the Porch, Thanks Susan!

I'm not much of a table-setter.  I'm pretty happy if I can find clean placemats that match.  I do like a good tablescape now and again.  I bought a homely little angel that no one else wanted and got it for a steal.  Last year he sat in the powder room.  I spruced him up for a promotion to the dining room this year.

 This is "before".

(It looks especially bad, because I took it with a flash, but it was dark and I wanted to get started!)  You can see my handiwork here.  The bottom got spray painted gold and the gown, white.  I tried to leave it distressed looking, but it wasn't working very well, so I just made the white streaky (I painted with a brush.)

Yes, my candlesticks are still brass!  I'm debating on painting them, but I don't think I want black, so white?

The under-the-skirt secrets of getting the heights right.

What do you think of the crinkled, crinkley fabric?  It is a drapery panel purchased at Walmart for some window that never did get used - well at least for a window.

Who could resist these mini boxwood wreaths (I happened to get on clearance from Ballard Design last year!  Glee!)

Now, I'd like to share some ideas I found on linky Christmas parties, featuring you!

  3. Your home looks beautiful! I love your candlesticks and the shape is great. I wouldn't spray paint them. If anything I would use the ...uh my mind just went blank. It's the little tube of paint that is just for highlighting. {i use it mostly on furniture that gets dinged or for projects like this.} If you are interested email me and I'll tell you what it is...I am not at home right now or I'd look. Merry Christmas!
