Too Tall Windows? Problem Solved!

First off, I want to say "thank you" to all of the nice comments I got on my last post: Painting With Scaffolding. And to The Shabby Chic Cottage for hosting Transformation Thursday.
This window appeared in the "supply pit" on that post. To see how these were hung, check out the post Free Drapery Holders.

Now, technically the window isn't overly big, but it is high enough off the floor that I would have to had either make something, not a bad option. Or make do with something. --It's got a Steve-Urkil-of-home-dec going on.-- I have two windows like this, so I purchased two packages of short drapery sets from Tuesday Morning. (Included: Two panels and two tie backs.)

To do this, hang the panel at the top casing, then put a cup hook in the bottom side of the casing.

Place one end of the tie back on the hook.

Fold the second panel so it will be the approximate length of where you would like the panel to end at the floor.

Place the tie back through the fold you just made.

Attach the other end of the tie back to the cup hook.

It should look like this.

Let go of the fabric and arrange pleats or folds and swaggy-ness the way you want it.

All done!
Custom length window treatments!
If the second panel is too long for your window, there is no reason you couldn't just cut it off and tuck the cut end behind the draped portion.
