Living Room Tour

edited to add:  I'm joining Danielle's Home Tour Party
at Transforming Home

Welcome to my Living Room!
You were able to see a full shot at Painting with Scaffolding. Here are some close ups...

Entry table
Silk plant alert! Ya either luv 'em or hate 'em! I've been on the "love" side, but am starting to get creeped out by how many I actually have around here. I feel a purging comin' on.

This is the last party we had here.
You can see it got pretty wild, furniture was tipped over, and I don't know who these two women are, but they could obviously not hold their drinks! And someone left her entire outfit! (Courtesy of Fun-Size Chick.)

I included this shot so you could see the finished paint job.

The French doors are the entry to my husband's office.

This is the only arrangement where I have things layered. I'm going to work on remedying that. The coffee table was cheap very reasonable from craigslist. I'm starting to think I should upgrade it. I wanted a glass (this house is the first one I've been comfortable enough that kids wouldn't sit on, or for that matter, dance on) table. Plus, you can see through it to the rug from upstairs (one day I'd like a larger one, this one is only 8'x10'). I like that...

 Tufting and more tufting!
Six-foot chick
wants this when she leaves home--the soft, curvy corners are perfect for curling up with a book. The sofa was a floor model at a furniture store.

This side table is actually a night stand that I found at a consignment shop. I love the curves of the legs combined with the overall contemporary feel of it. It used to have large silver drawer pulls. (I would have loved a mirrored side table, but didn't want to spend the $$.)

Shot from the front entry way. The table was an ebay find. It may get painted at some point, but I love how the reddish wood goes with the area rug.

These chairs were also purchased at a consignment store. They originally had beige paisley swirly fabric on them. I was able to find fabric (almost exactly what I was hoping for, the only thing I would have liked differently would have been little bees instead of roses) and reupholstered them. If you want to try your hand at re-upholstery, this style isn't too bad to work on.

Tripod table
also found on craigslist. Do you like the little clay dish? Strapping Lad made it years ago, he's now attending an arts college!
If you wonder why there are some obviously contemporary elements in the room. My house has contemporary architecture, so I wanted to combine that with the Frenchy-ness.
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
If you have any ideas about furniture and placement, please let me know. I think I should be able to fit more in here, but can't quite get a good mental picture.
