Make Your Own Chair Slipcover in an Afternoon
Ties:
What I essentially made was a double fold strip. (If you want to copy the slipcover and don't want to do this, you can buy ribbon, or cording, or double fold bias tape and sew the side shut.) For my chair, I made twenty ties. (It sounds like an awful lot, but they go pretty fast.)Make Your Own Chair Slipcover in an Afternoon
Ties:
Cut strips. My strips were 2" x 16". If the fabric is thicker, the strips will need to be wider to accommodate folding.
Then I folded each raw edge into the middle and pressed again.
The ties were sewed about 7 1/2 inches apart on both the front and back.
Pin the ties toward the fabric. Sew where my thumb is.
Results!
