I Report. You Decide. Which Coffee Table?

Hey friends!  This week is turning out way busier than I anticipated.  Phew!  Luckily, this post only required some picture taking.  Tuesday I was cleaning and decided to move furniture around and around and around some more.  You're only seeing part of my shenanigans, but it's plenty to have you help me decide which option looks best.

Option #1

This is the table that calls the living room its home.  It's just a cheapy (really cheapy) CL find.  It serves its purpose.

Option #2 - Bench

I thought I'd really like this, but...  It's rather narrow, so I'd need to move the chairs and sofa closer together, plus it's kinda high so it's not really easy to rest your feet on.  Yeah, we do classy things like that even in the living room.  I know, scandalous, right?

Option #3 - Ottoman

If I decide to put the ottoman here, what will I put in the foyer to replace it???  Below is a reminder of where it usually sits in the foyer.  I really like the curve/angle juxtaposition.

Okay.  What would you do?

  1. Beautiful living room! I like the glass and iron table. Just pile it full of rich books, pretties, etc. I love the round ottoman in the foyer. Not the usual and it looks wonderful. That nice bench will look good under a window somewhere, or at the end of a bed. You have pretty things for everywhere!

  2. Kim, I like the table, but also love the look of the bench, but if y'all need to put your feet up maybe that isn't the one. I wouldn't be putting my feet on that glass table either though. That couldn't be comfortable. The ottoman doesn't fit the space right. I would not move the chairs in closer. Just put the bench closer to the sofa so it looks like it is part of that and the chairs are just extra seating. I think where you have the bench is perfect.

  3. Ok strictly my opinion. The bench goes to the foyer and the ottoman goes in the living room just a thought. Curious to see what you do.

  4. It's all really pretty - what a great dilemma to have! I like the glass table next to those upholstered pieces, and I love the ottoman in that nook. Looks like a great place to chat on the phone or read the mail...

  5. Kim,
Would the bench work in the foyer? I like the ottoman in the living room.

    Blessings,

  6. Are you sure this is going to be helpful?? Lots of different opinions already! I like the round ottomon as well. I think it's unusual and eye-catching. Trying the bench in the front entryway is a great idea...or looking for something new!

  7. Call me old fashioned but my favorite piece to use as the coffee table is...the coffee table! It's an interesting shape, I like the contrast between it and your rug, yet it also highlights the dark color in your rug.

My second choice would be the ottoman but I really, really like it better in the foyer. It seems to fit the foyer space well and I've always loved the arrangement you have on it.

I like the bench a lot, but just not feelin' it in this setting.

If you aren't happy with the coffee table, or are just plain tired of it, maybe you could sell it and find something else on CL.

  8. Ottoman, and then convince your husband that you MUST go shopping to find something for the little nook....ASAP.

  9. I think Iron table is best there... because ottoman is perfectly perfect in the foyer....

  10. I'm voting for the ottoman, because it looks great and you would have a soft landing for your feet. The iron coffee table looks good there too.

  11. I am casting my vote for the ottoman. I would angle the chairs slightly. But really they all look great and none are premant so you can change them frequently.
But then maybe I am not the person to ask, I had trouble picking out a t-shirt this morning.
    Good luck,
    Traci

  12. Well, I totally adore the ottoman. I think it is perfect. If not then I would use the coffee table. I would do stacks of books and candles on the top and place a lovely plant underneath to give it more presence. Such a lovely room.
Can't wait to see it all done. Hugs, Marty

  13. I say ottoman too. I think the bench looks too...uh...benchy? lol The coffee table would be my second choice. Plus, it looks to me like the ottoman is a bit lower than the other two pieces and if you want to put your feet up I think that would fit the ticket.

Would the bench fit in the foyer? You could also put a nice big round urn or something there too (see, another chance to go shopping)...

It is hard to tell by pictures sometimes. I think you will know by what "feels right" and not let any of the comments sway you away from your gut instinct. xo Diana

  14. I adore the ottoman in the foyer - it looks fab there...but I also like it in the living room. Maybe you just need another ottoman! Lucky for you all the pieces are great and work in your space

  15. I vote for #1.
I know you'll put lots of Fall goodies on it and it will be GREAT!

  16. I forgot to mention - maybe a runner would look great on the first coffee table too!
    Just a thought.

  17. I'd leave the ottoman where it is and I'd go with the iron and glass coffee table. I like the curves on the iron legs. I'd make it work
even if I had to paint it.

  18. i suppose this has been decided long ago since it is an old post.

what ended up in the living room??

  19. I would go with option 2...the bench. The ottoman needs to stay in the foyer. I am not big on glass top tables...anyway this is my opinion.
    Have a blessed day!

  20. I think the round ottoman looks great in the the living room. I'd go with that even though it looks good in the foyer as well. Now, this might sound nutty but could you make that metal table into an ottoman as well? Maybe for the foyer?

  21. Well, I love the unexpectedness of the ottoman being in the foyer but I vote for the ottoman in the LV room. Hey, what's the point in being able to move things around if you keep in it one place? You can always switch it back later! Can't wait to see what you do!

  22. I vote for the the ottoman. A small table under the picture in the foyer would look great. Maybe even with a small chair beside it. I love the color of the ottoman in your living room.
