A Frame and A Finial

Oh, little frame.  O, little finial.  Awhile back I had seen another blogger (sorry, dear blogger, I don't remember your blog!) use a shadow box to frame a brooch.  "Ooo, I must do!" was my reaction.  You see I have quite a collection of pins.  They don't get worn too much any more, sigh.  Anyway, back to my story.  I have been on the lookout for shadow boxes ever since on my thrift store trips.

Last week, I found the above shadow box for $1.  The curtain rod finials came along for the ride at $2.

I'm sure you can see where this all went.  A little ORB, scraps of cardboard.  Burlap.  Batting...

and I have a framed piece of dimensional art that I can change on a whim.

See?
Sorry for the marginal okay, bad, photo on this one.

 Whim.

Aaannnd, I got this small brass candlestick.  (See the landscape in the backgrown?  The one with "future project" written all over it?  Stay tuned for that transformation.)  My large finial needed a smaller companion.  So, a little ORB, a little E6000 (although I can't get it out of the tube, so the finial is currently precariously perched), and we are on our way to a collection.

I'm working on an arrangement in my master bath, so I did all of my pin-playing in here.

Today, I'm playing with these ladies:

  14. I have a bunch of finials and I never thought of putting them on a candle stick, I am going to tell you right now, I am copying that Idea. I lol about E600, I have a big pin I have to stick in it every time I use it and then I usually just give up before the tube is empty and buy another one.
