C'mon In, Christmas Tour I

"C'mon in!" Welcome to the first half of my Christmas tour.  It seemed like an entire tour would tire us all out, so I decided to split it up.   My doors are the same as last year, traditional wreaths don't show up, so something a little different works best.

First you are greeted by this Christmas fairy, she looks a little lonely.  Don't worry, these are close by:

Christmas cones, instead of stockings, with a doubled up garland.  Cone, how-to instructions are coming.  I made these last year, but not with enough time to do a post.

Take a quick look to your left, and you will see lighted sticks {heart!} and a glorious angel.

Before we look fully into the living room, I'm going to take you for a quick detour up the stairs to the loft.  You remember my loft, don't you?  It's still being worked on, but for the sake of the holidays, we'll just give it a rest.

I hope I heard a least someone out there squeal!  It's quite a difference from the before, but we'll take a look at that in the new year.  If you're a Facebook follower, you already got a sneak peek of my grain sack project (right now it's ovalish).  If you're a Twitter follower, you know about my pencil tree search.  If you aren't a Facebook or Twitter follower, there's no time like present!

I {heart} this pencil tree!  It's small enough to tuck in the space, but not large enough to compete with the big tree.

Our advent calendar - it won't be featured in PB, but it's darned cute!  It looks like Artsy Chick's work, I think Fun-Sized chick was in charge of taping the rings.  Did you wear comfortable shoes?  Let's jog down the stairs, back to the entryway.

The big tree - twelve feet tall.

Why, oh why, do the photos make it look so effortless?  As you all know, during the process it's just a big mess of tissue paper and plastic bins!

Coffee table baubles.

Dresser vignette, a set of the three wise men, my aunt made for me in 1982.

Console Santas.  Yes, I did adjust the lights around the wreath after this photo was taken!  At the time I had gotten this together, I was so tired, I wanted to test out the evolution theory and see if by just throwing the lights up there, they would evolve into a really pretty arrangement.  No go.  I had seen a wreath topiary somewhere, so made my own using an empty container, sytrofoam and wooden skewers.

I've got more to show you, please come back, won't you?  Wishing you Christmas blessings.

  21. Glorious tour,Kim! I just LOVE your stairs and the lovely garland. What a beautiful combination of greens and ribbon and cones. It makes a festive statement.

I have never seen such a grand tree in a private home before. It must have been quite a production to put up. And yes, it looks effortless and exquisite.

I just bought a big dough bowl to put some pretty greens and baubles in. I see you have a golden, glittery bowl of balls and narcissus. Gorgeous. All of it. I am looking forward to part II.
