I am finally getting some of the bins put away. The chicks and I got them into the garage last night. It's nice not to keep bumping into them. The family room is a little more presentable now.
This is the entire hutch. The tree prints hung from the knobs on the bottom of hand prints of the youngest two girls.
My gold, frankincense, and myrrh display.
More hutchiness...
I have a total of five of these Santas. I took pictures and took pictures today, but the tree and these santas would not photograph well. They are up above the area where our computer is. I'll refer to this as the decorating ghetto. These Santas are just beautiful, but I realized a few years ago that I had too large a collection of Santas, (many more than these five!) so I've been making an effort to buy nativity scenes and angels.
This is the only photo I tried of this bench--since it's against windows I can't ever get it to photograph well. Anyway, I just luuuve this little red wreath tied here. I know it's simple and not original, but it makes me feel happy every time I see it ~ smile!
The best shot I could get of the tree! (and I must have taken near 60!) It is 9-feet tall and used to be our big fancy tree.
Take a closer look at the garland. It is a take-off of the coat hanger wreaths that are so popular around blogland.
This is how it's done: Use bulbs 1" and 1 1/2" in diameter and string to your heart's content. And of course secure the ends. Note: I purchased my garland, so I did not string it all myself! The Dollar Store near me only had 1 1/2" bulbs. Walmart had a pack, but you'll probably want to wait till after Christmas (bucket o' bulbs) sales because it could get pricey, and that wouldn't be cheap or chic. Please let me know if you make this, I'd love to see some pictures!
