I was inspired by Lisa at Moore Minutes to take a stroll down memory lane. (In all fairness, hers looks like a pro party planner! Although maybe I should give myself some points for effort, since I had 1 yr. old and 3 yr. "helpers".)
This a birthday cake I made for my son when he turned
ONE year old!
The Strapping Lad is now in is first year of college! I keep thinking I'm going to use this theme for a teenager party--maybe a 50s diner theme-- but I haven't done it yet--I've still got a few kids at home, though!

For the recipe, CLICK HERE. The one I made most closely resembles Cake #27. Sorry, there are lots of instructions and I didn't want to retype them - Sad Face Here!

Oh, my gosh, I remember seeing that cake in WD magazine way back then! How cool that you made it for your son's first birthday. What a cutie, too. It must be hard to believe he is all grown up now. Time sure flies, doesn't it?
