Strawberry Pretzel Jello
Heat oven to 350o
Crust: 1 2/3 c. broken pretzels
3 T. sugar
3/4 c. melted butter (1 1/2 sticks)
Press into bottom of 9"x13" pan
Bake for 10-15 min.
Remove from oven. Cool.
Middle Layer:
Press into bottom of 9"x13" pan
Bake for 10-15 min.
Remove from oven. Cool.
Middle Layer:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1 8-oz. container Cool Whip
Cream together cream cheese and sugar.
Fold in Cool Whip.
Fold in Cool Whip.
Spread on cooled crust.
Strawberry Layer:
Large strawberry jello
1 lb. strawberries (fresh or frozen)
15 oz. can crushed pineapple
Drain pineapple reserving juice. Use juice and add water to measure 2 cups. Boil water, then dissolve gelatin in the boiling water. Mix in strawberries and pineapple. Place mixture in refrigerator until partially thickened. (If you use frozen strawberries, this will thicken very quickly!) Spread over creamy layer. Refrigerate until firm.
Cut and serve.
(The extra dollop of Cool Whip is totally unnecessary, but looks yummy in the photo!)

ReplyDeleteWhat is it with people and Jello and chemical "pseudo foods"? Despite the marketing it is not food. It is rendered from the disgusting parts of pigs (real Christians don't eat pig) and cows that can't be used for anything else, then combined with artificial color and flavor and heaps of sugar and/or neuro-toxic sweetener. It's a slow death sentence and contributes to moods and behaviours that lead to deadly drugs like Ritalin and antidepressants and more. Enjoy while you delete my comment because you are too programmed to consider the truth or even check it out for yourself. While you're at it look up "Cool Whip" ingredients too.
