I found a $3 gold frame at GW. I took out all of the backing. This frame had those bending tabs to hold everything together. I had to bend them outwards, otherwise they showed while the picture was hanging. (Ask me how I know.) I added the tooth hanger on the back since there was no hardware.
To get the glass to stay in, I added a bead of hot glue all around the back while the glass was already sitting on the wood. My thought was to have the glue as a "lip" to hold the glass on.
I trimmed the excess boarder away from the print and used masking tape to tape it right onto the glass.
To cover up the masking tape from the front, I looped ribbon and just taped it on the front of the glass over the masking tape. Hey, I should have waved "Hi!". I already had the ribbon on hand. I may change it to something a little fancier in the future. I hope Elsina approves. I've been seeing all of the fun the CSI Project blog has been having, so I thought I'd get this post up for their framing challenge this week.
Thanks for stopping by on my SITS day! Hope you have a great week.

ReplyDeleteI had to stop by and tell you that I used LOTS of longaberger baskets on a picnic I had and I thought of YOU when I was getting the baskets ready. :) I would love to share the post with you.

Oh that is a great idea and very original! I have a ton of frames with photos and drawings that are so plain and am still looking for an idea how to spice those frames up without paying a ton for nice fitting mats. Thanks for sharing!
