Yum, just scrumptious! It was painted with ASCP* in Old Ochre and given two coats of her clear wax, only. (The ASCP appeal, for me, is lack of prep--you don't know how tempted I was to take my paint brush and start on my kitchen cabinets!)
And, since we all love a good before and after, let's take a moment to Ooo and Ahh(!) over the transformation. I originally had left the base of the dresser in the natural wood, too--I kind of wanted to keep the tie-in with the ladder shelf on the other side of the room, but it made the piece look too bottom heavy--so I opted to paint it.
When the replacement drawer pulls were purchased, I decided to go with a bronze wash instead of black. I'm glad I did as it gives them a softer look. (You know, the devil's in the details!) One more note: If you do a project like this, keep the old hardware until you get the new installed. I needed to reuse the screws on the top drawer, since they were longer from the extra wood depth.

(Note to self: Check for miscellaneous photo invaders, i.e., hampers.) This dresser has certainly been transported into the right decade--it looks fantastic in the room.

misc. photo invaders! LOL! Love this. It turned out great! I've had my bedroom armoire on my ASCP to do list for EVER! I hope I can get to it soon. It too is ready to come into the correct decade!
Oh, man, I was just thinking today that I should do something with my awful bedroom furniture. We have a set that was my hubby's parents that went through a fire and you can tell there was damage. I have been reluctant because of the tops that can't be refinished, but now I see I can do it your way--I just am not sure how it would look in our room . We have 2 bureaus, and 2 night stands. Can you tell me what ASCP is and what you mean by wax? Give me a bit more detail please. I really don't want to do all the work it would take!! Perhaps I could eventually find something second hand, lol. Or.....wellllllll ??

I love what you did with the dresser! Now that I'm aware of ASCP I will be looking for it! Is the clear wax also an Annie Sloan product? Also do you use a brush or a rag to apply it?
